Rev. Dr. Dianne D. Coles

Dr. Dianne D. Coles retired from the federal government as a Financial Analyst and Budget Analyst, with 35 years’ experience. She currently serves as a Spiritual Teacher and Lecturer, and an Itinerate Elder of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. She has led various ministries to include Intercessory Prayer, Church School, Debutantes and Masters Program, minister to Youth and Young Adults, and Bible Study teacher. She has served as Assistant Pastor at New Liberation AM.E. Church in Glenarden, MD and as Assistant Pastor at Brown Memorial A.M.E. Church in Washington D.C.. She is currently serving as Director of Christian Education and Minister to Women at Brown Memorial A.M.E. Church in Washington, D. C. and teaches both the Adult Church School Class and weekly Bible Study.
Dr. Coles is the eldest of two children born to Samuel and Jeanette Dyson. She is married to Earl D. Coles and they have four children and three grandchildren. Dr. Coles has been awarded the following degrees: Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University, Master of Divinity from Howard University School of Divinity, and Doctor of Ministry from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. Her doctoral thesis focused on the Healing Ministry of Jesus and its implications for the contemporary Church and the Christian disciple of today. She also participated in graduate and executive-level studies at Simmons College and Harvard University. Dr. Coles believes that the church of the Book of Acts is accessible to the contemporary church as every believer yields to the power and movement of the Holy Spirit in their lives. We can return to the “dunamis power” so prevalent at the birth of the church age. “Arise, shine, for thy light is come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.” (Isaiah 60:1)
